Get Your Mind Right............Dead Dad Day 59

Dear Dad,

You have blessed us all with different personalities, and You have given us the power to choose which personality we wish to embody on a daily basis. You have created us with such complexity that at any given moment, we are able to switch our personalities and transform into a seemingly different person. The constant change of personalities in a specified amount of time can be connected to certain mental disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc and while some people suffer with these disorders many of us don’t. However, our constant mood swings, and personality changes could easily be misconstrued as a mental disorder. For those of us who have not been diagnosed, please help us to not act as such. For those who have mental difficulties I pray that Your omnipotent power transform and renew their mind (You have the authority), however for those of us who You have given the authority to control our thought processes, urge and prompt us to be good stewards. A day is only bad if we set in our minds that the day is bad. The same with good days, we determine if our day is good by the way we program our minds to think. Our attitudes should no longer be adjusted according to the influence of others, or the impact of life. You require us to practice self control and prove our trust in You by a genuine display of faith. Faith that with You all things are possible, faith that You can turn a seemingly bad turn of event into something spectacular, faith that no matter who has something to say, our hope and identity is in You, and faith that whatever Your Will is, will be done and it will be for our benefit, even if we can’t see it yet. Oh silly me, that’s what faith is!!

Intentional about controlling my mind,
Kristen

Word on The Go: Hebrews 11:1; Philippians 4:8; 2 Peter 1:5-7; Romans 8:6

Hebrews 11:1
Great Examples of Faith ] Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see

Philippians 4:8
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise

2 Peter 1: 5-7
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

Romans 8:6
So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
